musky, rich, complex
Offbeat natural wine from Tavel in the south of France. Showcasing the innate appeal of low intervention wines with thoughtful blends of hand-harvested grapes (50% Grenache Blanc and 10% each of Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette, Marsanne, Bourboulenc).
This is a tricky and complex one! On first open, the nose hits with ripe fruit and almond with a stony mineral backbone on the swallow; then after a few hours or even overnight, it evolves and shapeshifts into a briny, nutty concoction with black walnut bitters and a saline rinse. A long finish with beautifully sensory dried flowers and steeped tea.
Enjoy it now or cellar it for a rainy day.
